Robert grew up in his family’s small businesses in Los Angeles, learning the value of customer relationships at an early age. He did everything from digging trenches, merchandising plumbing hardware, to buying and selling industrial equipment. He now resides in Northern California’s Bay Area with his wife, Marlene, where they enjoy local food, friends and the outdoors.

Professionally, Robert brings over a decade of tactical and strategic leadership experience across sales, business development, marketing, engineering, and product development in preparation for becoming a CEO.

In his latest roles, he drove over $40MM of sales to commercial and fleet customers in the electric vehicle industry for Silicon Valley-based startups, Tesla Motors and Proterra, respectively, the leading light-duty automotive and heavy-duty bus battery-electric vehicle manufacturers in North America.

Prior to B2B sales and business development, Robert started his career as an engineer and project manager for The Boeing Company’s Space and Defense unit in Southern California, working on some of the most iconic aerospace products of our time, including the space shuttle, communication satellites, as well as military and commercial aircraft.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is a proud first-generation Mexican-American and first in his family to graduate from college.
